Director of First Impressions and Appointment Coordinator

After starting out as a dental assistant in a general practice, I then joined an oral surgery team as a surgical assistant for more than five years.  I have come to enjoy all aspects of dentistry and purpose to make our patients’ visit a helpful and pleasant one.  I joined Dr. Vocal and the team in January of 2018 and happily serve as your Appointment Coordinator and Director of First Impressions in our practice.

I am originally from Canada and after meeting the love of my life have shared 13 years here in the United States.  After my husband retired from the US Army last year, we decided to settle down in his home state of beautiful Maine with our two playful kitties. Here, I enjoy being on the water and the ice! Watching movies with my husband and kitties, cooking and entertaining are just a few of my favorite things.

EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant)

Still residing in my hometown in Boothbay, Maine, I completed my studies to become a Certified Dental Assistant.  At which point, I then attended York County Community College where I graduated from a certificate program called Expanded Functionalist Dental Assisting in 2014 and continued my education at University of Maine at Augusta.

As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, I have been able to go beyond dental assisting which primarily helps the dentist with patient care to performing advanced duties under my dentist’s supervision. I have taken numerous courses in such locations as The Pankey Institute in Florida and many American Dental continuing education courses.  Learning and applying knowledge is my passion!

In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors of hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. But, I mostly enjoy spending time with my son, Aiden.

EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant)

2003 marked my journey in the field of dentistry as a Financial Coordinator. I then graduated in 2005 with an Associate’s Degree in business before deciding to move into the clinical side of dentistry. After receiving a Certified Dental Assistant certification, I graduated as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in 2013. Over the years I have witnessed patients share how their teeth have hindered them from smiling. I am grateful to be apart of helping patients receive the treatment they deserve and seeing them walk out of our dental office smiling in confidence.
After my younger years in Bath, I married my high school sweetheart. We built a home in Boothbay were we reside today. Those near and dear to me are my husband, daughter, grandson and two boxers. I love taking on the challenge of obstacle racing, CrossFit training, hiking, and any other outdoor activity that gives me energy!

Dental Hygienist

I grew up in Rhode Island where I started my dental career as an assistant in 2005. It was then I had come to realize my true passion; give back to the community, and help educate patients on the benefits of having a healthy mouth so they can live an overall healthy life.

It has been astonishing to me that our society in the healthcare industry has been separating oral health from the rest of the body for decades up until now. When in fact everything is connected and needs to be treated as a whole!  After my growing passion for dentistry and overall health, I decided to move to the lovely state of Maine where I attended the University of New England.  There, I earned my bachelors degree in dental hygiene. I am also local anesthesia certified in which I utilize to help keep my patients comfortable during their treatment needs if at all necessary. I stay up to date with my education with continuing education courses. In my spare time, I enjoy reading other medical literature that helps me correlate my profession with my patients’ overall health.

Other than dental life, I enjoy spending time with my husband, stepson, 3 pups, and my two goats! I enjoy every season Maine has to offer, although spring and summer are my favorites as paddle boarding is my go to Zen time. The winter and fall months allow me to enjoy some extra kitchen time where I love baking and creating new dishes to enjoy with my family. I am fortunate to have become a team member with Dr. Vocal and the team. I look forward to meeting with you, building a friendly and professional relationship, all while educating and helping to implement possible changes that are needed to best suit your overall health. This is a passion, not a job, that’s what intrigues me to continuously strive in giving the best possible care, education, and experience to all my patients.

Treatment Coordinator/Team Leader

I joined the practice in 1983 as a Dental Assistant.  In 2018, I became Treatment Coordinator and Team Leader.
I was born and raised in Brunswick.  I am married and have three children.  They keep me busy with their sports and performing arts performances.
In my spare time I enjoy Crossfit and running.
I have a passion for educating people about the oral/systemic health connection and helping them get healthier by fitting dental treatment into their life.

Administrative Assistant

Before joining the practice in 2016, I have enjoyed being a stay at home mom of three active boys for over 15 years. Though my administrative support is to ensure efficient operations at the office,

the world of complete health dentistry has allowed me to meet individuals of all backgrounds and experiences. It’s our patients who have been the biggest contributors to the family-oriented practice that I am blessed to be apart of.

When not working, I enjoy spending time with my boys, serving in neighboring communities and cooking Greek meals for my growing men!
